2014 Ford Transit Connect Wagon Features

What most people do in a weekend, you’re doing every day. Your world is always active and never the same from one day to the next. That’s why there’s the all-new 2014 Transit Connect. It’s the multi-purpose vehicle that has everything you need to let you accomplish your goals. Dynamic styling sets it apart from anything else on the road and each wheelbase offers space to accommodate your imagination. Powertrains are optimized to provide the power you expect and efficiency you demand. Transit Connect is ready for anything, just like the way you live.

This is the list of features of this model:

Active safety

An electronic stability control system that helps the driver maintain vehicle control in adverse driving situations or when making evasive maneuvers on slippery pavement.

A total cocoon of safety

The Safety Canopy System provides side-curtain airbags with roll-fold technology for all outboard passengers, and a rollover sensor, along with six standard airbags.

Available MyKey owner controls let you assign separate keys for additional drivers, all coded to enforce your specific driving restrictions. You can limit vehicle functions, including top speed and audio volume, and add warning alerts at preselected speeds. When activated, MyKey also encourages smart driving behavior by muting audio until safety belts are buckled, chiming earlier than non-MyKey systems for low-fuel warnings, and prohibiting the shutoff of key features such as AdvanceTrac Stability Control.

Advanced power and efficiency

The available 1.6L EcoBoost engine combines two different technologies – turbocharging and direct injection – to optimize power, torque and efficiency.

Rain-sensing wipers

When activated, available rain-sensing wipers use an advanced optical sensor to detect the intensity of rain and/or snowfall to adjust wiper speed. They automatically go on when moisture is sensed.

Electric power-assisted steering

Electric power-assisted steering (EPAS) helps contribute to the responsive driving experience. EPAS uses speed-sensitive steering and active nibble control technology, which actively detects and minimizes undesirable rotational vibration to help provide feedback and confidence at highway speeds.

Easy Fuel® capless fuel filler

The standard Easy Fuel capless fuel filler has an integrated spring-loaded flapper door that lets you simply insert the fuel nozzle to fill up. No screw cap is required. And because Easy Fuel automatically seals after the fuel nozzle is removed, fewer evaporative emissions are released into the environment.

Ample storage

Available storage compartments located above the middle and rear seats offer plenty of convenient space for personal items.

All-new interior

No matter if it’s a home improvement project or a quick camping trip, Transit Connect has an interior designed for work and family adventures. Standard and long-wheelbase versions offer plenty of room for passengers and cargo.

Stay informed

A 4.2-inch LCD multifunction display keeps the driver informed of vehicle functions. The entertainment system with CD player can be equipped with SYNC® and MyFord Touch,®* and accessed via remote controls on the available leather-wrapped steering wheel with 4-way adjustments.

Quickclear Windshield

Simply push the button to activate the available Quickclear windshield and ultra-thin wires heat the windshield to rapidly clear fog, snow and ice.

Torque Vectoring Control

The 2014 Transit Connect will feature Torque Vectoring Control. This dynamic technology is usually found only on premium vehicles. It uses the vehicle’s braking system to imitate the effect of a torque vectoring differential, constantly balancing the distribution of engine torque between the two front wheels to suit driving conditions and road surface. In particular, when accelerating through corners, the system applies braking to the front inside wheel so more of the engine torque goes to the outside wheel, which provides enhanced traction and handling. The system is designed to provide drivers with confidence and control.
